Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the execution of software development initiatives, particularly in Unemployment Insurance programs or other regulated government sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex, multi-faceted projects while ensuring compliance with government regulations, tax calculations, and direct-to-user payment workflows. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and expertise in project management tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects in a regulated, government-sector environment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables while maintaining alignment with business goals.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Utilize project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management) to create schedules, track progress, and produce detailed reports for stakeholders.
• Ensure all projects comply with Unemployment Insurance program requirements and related government regulations.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with state or government agency representatives, providing consistent updates and addressing concerns proactively.
• Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration among developers, analysts, and other project members.
• Implement risk management strategies to identify, mitigate, and resolve project risks efficiently.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing project outcomes and applying lessons learned to future initiatives.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

• 5 years’ experience managing software development projects in Unemployment Insurance programs or other regulated and audited government sectors, including workflows for tax calculations and direct-to-user payments.
• 5 years’ experience as a Lead Project Manager managing a portfolio of multiple concurrent projects.
• 3 years’ experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management, or equivalent (please list all tools used).
• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Proven experience working with state or government agencies.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field (please specify college name and degree earned).
• Demonstrated experience working on Unemployment Insurance project teams.
