Job Summary:

We are seeking a SharePoint Architect to lead the design and implementation of our SharePoint migration to the Government Community Cloud (GCC). This role requires expertise in SharePoint architecture, best practices, and migration tools. The SharePoint Architect will work closely with leadership and project teams to develop scalable, secure, and user-centered SharePoint environments that enhance organizational collaboration and content management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the assessment and documentation of the current on-premises SharePoint architecture during the Discovery Phase.
• Design the future-state architecture for the Government Community Cloud, including site collections, hubs, permissions, and obsolete technology design.
• Create high-level and detailed migration plans, covering disposition of sites, site collections, forms, workflows, and permissions.
• Develop and present SharePoint site design standards and best practices, ensuring alignment with industry and organizational requirements.
• Collaborate on creating SharePoint governance documents, certification processes, and standardized roles for Site Owners.
• Establish and enforce a navigation structure, metadata management, and enhanced content discovery methods to streamline user experience.
• Provide project dashboards, reporting on project health indicators (budget, schedule, scope) for stakeholders, and manage remediation of any issues post-migration.
• Support post-migration architecture adjustments and ensure documentation of architectural changes for SharePoint Platform Administrators.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with SharePoint architecture and design, especially with migrations to the Government Community Cloud (GCC).
• Proficiency with Sharegate, MetaLogix, Microsoft Migration Tool, Kudzu, and PowerShell for migration and architecture management.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server, SQL Server, InfoPath, SharePoint Designer, IIS, JavaScript, HTML, and C#.
• Expertise in PowerApps and Power Automate for modernizing workflows and forms.
• Solid understanding of SharePoint best practices, user experience design, and state/federal accessibility guidelines.
• Experience in creating governance documents and implementing SharePoint certification processes.
• Proven ability to communicate complex architectural solutions and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Experience with permissions and access remediation to maintain security and consistency in site access.
• Familiarity with industry-wide SharePoint design principles, including content discovery, user navigation, and branding.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on ensuring zero defects through QA and UAT processes.
